Enter The Haggis: Gutter Anthems

I love blog swag! Free stuff I end up getting because of my blog. It's mostly books, but occasionally I get a CD.  A few months ago I blogged (here) about accidentally discovering a great little celtic rock band called Enter The Haggis. One of their promoters recently saw my post and sent me a copy of their just-released CD entitled Gutter Anthems.

Honestly, even if this wasn't a free CD, I would still love it. I really dig the whole fusion of celtic music (bagpipes, fiddle, penny-whistle, accordion) with all the more traditional rock sounds. (Another band I like that does this is Flatfoot 56, but they definitely have a more punk sound.) Gutter Anthems is fun and also beautiful at times. If you're in the mood for something other than the normal "Top 40" garbage, this is definitely worth you time and your $10.

Heh, I wish I got free CDs for my posts about them! But it's nice to read good things about them from another blogger :)
